I just love the fit in the upper thigh, roomy but not baggy. I can cinch in the waist that's hidden in the pocket, solving a problem I've had with many pants, they fit in the leg but not the waist. I was able to get a short length too. Articulated knees and gusseting mean no pinchy spots. Perfect fit! I plan on hiking a lot in these.
