This is my first review on this shoe.
I've tried many other HOKA shoes. I just received these last week. I've been wearing in the house thought My left ankle was hurting from them. It happened to be the sli in shoes I had on before trying the new HOKS shoes on. I feel this pair feel really good so far. YAY! I was ready to give up and I ...

Painful arch
I bought these shoes (along with 3 other shoes) in a size 9.5 The frame of the shoe dug into the arch of my foot. It was not as bad as the other shoes from Hoka I tried. I typically wear an 8.5 regular, these fit great and they gave my toes the wiggle room they needed. I liked these shoes despite ...

My new favorite!
I've purchased multiple styles from Hoka and the Gaviota 5 is by far my favorite! I have fairly wide and flat feet and needed something comfortable, but also supportive. These are both of those things!
Most comfortable shoe I have ever worn!
I had foot surgery in February and non weight bearing for almost 3 months! I put this shoe on right out of the box and it was like a cloud. I had no break in period at all. I will be ordering another pair of these.
Love the Stability!
My feet require the stability that only the Hoka Gaviota can provide. I've been running/jogging/walking in the Hoka Gaviota for the past 4 years - I'm a super fan!
I will for sure buy again
I thought I was wearing comfortable shoes but these really are amazing.
Good shoe but not for me
The Gaviota 5 was recommended to me for plush cushioning and a roomy forefoot. The forefoot width was good but not great for me, and the cushioning was medium rather than plush. However, for most people it should strike a nice balance.
Takes some getting used to
I am wearing it in the house and trying to get used to its feel. It is different than the arahi and I feel a little unsteady. Very comfortable and cushiony. I am hoping this will be great for walking.
Stablized my foot
I walk daily and I love the bounce and cloud feeling of the Bondi9 and Skyflow, but the Gaviota 5 keeps my foot from ending up walking on the side. I do wish the Gaviota had more bounce but it is still a fantastic shoe!
I will not buy these again
I have been wearing Arahis forever to run in and wanted to try the other stability shoe. I wanted to love these. I do not. They are stable, I will say that. But they are also very cumbersome, wide, heavy, it's like running on skis. Going back to my old standbys. Will never purchase these again. Maybe a good walking or everyday shoe, but not for me for running.
