As one of the heaviest base layer tops and one of the best base layers for cold weather, this garment uses 100% responsibly sourced Merino wool, shoulder panels, and a flatlock seam construction to help prevent chafing as well as keep you comfortable and temperature regulated as you enjoy high-intensity skiing, hiking, running, and more.

This base layer is buttery soft, warm, and incredibly breathable. It's perfect to spend your entire day in - both whatever outdoor activities you're doing and the subsequent lounging. I also love the snowflake pattern! I will always buy Smartwool base layers.

This is one of my favorite 100% merino tops for a light layer of warmth that doesn't make me sweat. The twilight blue heather is a beautiful color. I own another top like this that has lasted over 6 years and is still in great shape. I can wear a small or medium and opted for Medium this time. This current version is a bit too long on me and I will hem it, but otherwise love this top.

Have used this as a base layer on some very rainy hikes with mid-range temps. I was warm but still comfortable going uphill! Was shedding some bits of lint, but that has stopped after a few washes.
