Description
Built at the intersection of road and trail, the Challenger 7 GTX has been completely reimagined from the ground up. Combining a simplified mesh upper with a soft new foam, we’ve increased the stack height for a plusher feel and added GORE-TEX INVISIBLE FIT with recycled content product technology for enhanced protection in inclement weather. Inspired by gravel tires, we’ve cued up smaller, tightly spaced lugs in center and larger, more aggressive lugs at the perimeter designed for improved traction on uneven terrain. Best for trail and all terrain running.

I'm a HOKA believer.

Okay, I am new to HOKA as of 2023. I am a 10 year fan of Asiscs and Asiscs ONLY. I have been 323 pounds and lost 110 lbs by walking, biking, weight lifting and more. My feet felt fine, but hurt after a while and my back kept hurting and I thought it was just me being overweight. My Chiropractor and...

I would not buy this product again

I now own seven pairs of HOKA shoes, so, clearly I'm invested in this brand. I use my Stinson 6's and Bondi 6's for running. They changed my life. Before finding them I was unable to do any running at all due to severe knee pain but the level of cushioning and ergonomics of these 2 brands allowed me...

Too high on my ankle bone

HOKA ONE ONE

The shoes are comfortable even though they are on the stiff side, which I wanted for a foot thing I have at the moment, but the sides of the shoes come up too high for my low volume feet and rub my ankle bones. Overall, a good shoe but not for people with low volume feet.

Ugh! I accidentally bought the ATX vs. just the Challengers and these shoes are hands down awful. Heavy, don't fit correctly, no cushion. Hard NO. I am returning them.

I was looking for all black pair. I love the speed goat 5. These challenger 7 made my feet numb and not cushiony like My speed goat. Bought size 8 in both. My speed goat 5 feels like walking on a cloud wish came all black

Official Response by HOKA ONE ONE

Although we're sad to hear you didn't click with your Challenger 7s, we're thrilled to hear you love your Speedgoat 5s. We appreciate your feedback and we've passed this information along to our team. Perhaps our Clifton 9 GTX, with a balanced sole and waterproof features and featured in all black, could be just the style you're looking for. Clicking sound and feeling...

HOKA ONE ONE

The shoes felt very stiff when I first put them on, but thought taking them out a few times would help me get used to it. I ended up only going for a half mile walk. The right shoe made a popping/clicking sound and feeling with each step. I wondered if it's because of the Goretex exterior? The Challengers also feel narrow compared to the Speedgoats, which is what I've been wearing for years. I exchanged for a pair of Goretex Speedgoats! Hopefully they are squishy and silent :)

Official Response by HOKA ONE ONE

That definitely sounded like an awkward situation with the Challenger 7 GTX style. The occurrence was not a normal one and was more than likely a defective pair. We are happy to hear that you were able to successfully create your warranty exchange for the Speedgoats. Not waterproof

HOKA ONE ONE

Comfortable shoe with good running performance on and off trail. However, this shoe is not waterproof. It is water resistant at best. I expect more from a GoreTex shoe. Water seems to be seeping in between the sole and the upper and also via the tongue. Very disappointing.

Official Response by HOKA ONE ONE

The last thing you should be worried about is your feet getting wet while you're running like the wind. Our one-year warranty protects against manufacturing defects and this may qualify as such. You can find out more about it here: bit.ly/HOKAWty. Does not last

HOKA ONE ONE

Although they were good in the beginning, comfy and waterproof, they didn't last long. Must be something with the waterproof material because they got a hole in them within a few months. My other (non waterproof hokas) lasted much longer (and the tread went out on them before the material did).

Official Response by HOKA ONE ONE

The quality of your pair should be the last thing on your mind, as the goal is for you to fly for miles. Due to many varied factors such as terrain, frequency of wear and natural elements, some pairs may wear quicker than others. All our products come with a one-year warranty, and we recommend sending your pair in for an evaluation. Defective Durability

Submitted 5 months ago

By Sam

HOKA ONE ONE

The shoes were initially less comfortable than my other HOKAs but decided to keep them because they were considered "waterproof" although they were discovered to be not entirely waterproof but were more water resistant than my others. In less than a year the toe box lifted up and the creases became holes in the big and small toe areas. By the time I found the invoice for these on HOKA's site-with the purchase date- the 1year warranty period had expired. Other sport shoe companies provide longer warranties and stand behind their products better. Customer service reps that I spoke with through chats were kind and helpful but were not able to assist due to the over-arching company policy of no consideration for defects outside of the warranty period. Word to the wise, inspect your shoes carefully before the end of the one year period. Very disappointed with these shoes.

Official Response by HOKA ONE ONE

We are understanding of your disappointment in not being able to send your Challenger 7GTX back for warranty approval due to the time period expiring. We hope that you continue to purchase with us, and ensure to keep your invoice for future reference, to avoid the time lapse if ever needing to create a claim. You can find out more about our one-year warranty policy here: bit.ly/HOKAWty.

Great looking shoe but a little narrow and stiff. My fault for not reading up more on this style. I prefer more plus and lightweight, however, a wide width and a good hike would have made these better for me. Going to give the Bondi 8 a try for my needs.
