Description
Street-approved. Trail tested. Built at the intersection of road and trail, the Challenger 7 has been completely reimagined from the ground up. Combining a simplified mesh upper with a soft new foam, Hoka increased the stack height for a plusher feel and added proprietary rubber to the bottom unit, along with a reimagined outsole design for the best all-terrain ride yet. Inspired by gravel tires, they’ve cued up smaller, tightly spaced lugs in center and larger, more aggressive lugs at the perimeter designed for improved traction on uneven terrain.

Love this shoe.
I love this shoe. It's got comfort and support. I wear it 7 days a week. I have narrow heals and it fits well. I have to go down a half size on hokas in comparison to oboz.

Hoka ruined an incredible design
As someone with wide feet and orthopedic issues (i had a sesamoid removed in 2015), I have to be careful about the shoes I choose. HOKA faithfully served me for 6 years, and they have now narrowed a bunch of their designs so much that they caused nerve pain on the outside of my foot. I am assumin...

Comfy
I do a mix of road and trail running and these have been really great. Lightweight and comfortable whrr we ther I'm on the road or trail. I'll be buying these again.
It's a great shoe, but
The shoe is extremely comfortable and supportive, however I'm consistently upset that they only make wide shoes in the worst or most basic colors. I'm never buying an all white shoe, they look terrible after one or two days of use. Give me one of the bright pretty colors as a choice instead of black, white, or muted colors. Also, the little grippy nubs from the bottom of the shoe fall off relatively soon after regular wear, but that's true of all hokas in my experience so far.
1st Hoka purchase
I'm trying to get back into running after years of inactivity and not having proper support in my shoes. I splurged on these and just using them for walking…. they are awesome. Cute, comfy and supportive in all the right places. Can't wait to try running in them!
Well put together
My right foot is somewhat deformed due to an accident. That being said, it is hard to find good shoes that are 1) comfortable, 2) reasonably easy to put on, and 3) hold up to the wear and tear I put on a shoe. I easily wear out most shoes in less than 30 days and I only walk 3 miles/day. The Challenger has held up well to the point where you can hardly tell I walk with a deformity. The shoe is comfy and not to rugged. Toe box is roomy but not too. I really enjoy this shoe. Another I have that works well is the Bondi 9, and I want to get the Stinson for a big trip we are getting ready to take that will involve lots of walking. For now the Challenger gets a two thumbs up 😁
Absolutely love them!
I walk on concrete 9hrs a day. These made a huge difference! No thrombin feet when I get home!
good butt
i walk 4 to 5 miles every day these only last about six weeks, i love the support at first butt six weeks at over $100 a pair is tough
Good shoe but not "wide"
I like the shoe itself. It's a good, comfortable, solid shoe, however, it doesn't seem to be as wide as the wide sized Clifton 9 or Bondi 8 that I usually buy. I wanted to try these because they were less expensive than those shoes. I didn't think the "wide" part would be the issue. I thought it might be the support, however, the support of the shoe is great. I will buy them again.
Odd sizing
I ordered two different pair of Hokas. I have work both styles before. I have worn the same size before. This pair left over an inch of extra room in the toe of the shoe. My foot doesn't feel stable and supported as it slides back and forth in the shoe. The other pair I ordered was the Speedgoat 6 and they fit like a glove. I am perfectly happy with them. The shoe is nice, and I'm sure it would be comfortable if it fit correctly. This is why I'm giving 4 stars.
