Rocked these mountain biking the other day and recieved multiple compliments. They don't feel like stance socks of the past, maybe stance is trying to get you to buy their higher end featured socks by lowering the quality of these and other cheaper socks. Feels like the may fall apart fast. Only time will tell I guess
