Description
The Nidecker Supermatic is what snowboarding has been waiting for: the first universal, dual-entry, automatic binding. Many brands have tried and failed to crack the step-in code. Most of these systems required specific boots; many didn’t work well in powder; and none of them were as comfortable and reliable as a regular two-strap binding. They've spent four years developing their own solution that addresses all these issues, and it’s a genuine game changer. Nidecker built the Supermatic using tried-and-trusted materials found throughout their line. The baseplate is constructed from bulletproof glass-filled-nylon, with a Slip-N-Grip plate that helps your toe glide in over the pad to make entry even easier. Likewise, they added a roller to the heelcup for buttery smooth operation of the hiback trigger. Finally, the nylon Asym Hadron hiback is designed for a perfect fit, with a responsive flex and an integrated forward lean adjuster for full customization. Overall it’s a mid-stiff binding which the Nidecker team have rated as the most comfortable to date. They tested it everywhere – on groomers, steep-n-deep freeride lines and in the park – with input from riders of every kind. Bottom line: it’s a speed-entry system you can trust. Whether you’re sick of getting your pants wet doing up your straps, or you wanna smoke your skier friends off the lift...the future just arrived.

These work great. They require a bit of practice to get into smoothly but they do work well. Getting in on adverse terrain sometimes requires using the straps. You will get the most out of these when doing lots of short runs. They are heavier and bulkier than other options. My main reason for these is that I can use any boot. I would buy them again. Haven't tried them in the park.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

No regrets. Wanted a binding that worked with any boots. Once you get your set up dialed in it's so easy. The disc allows for a lot of variations for your stance. I recommend watching the set-up videos for details. On mountain loved never having to re-adjust how tight my bindings were. If you want to save time on the mountain get this binding.

DO NOT BUY!!!

Not ready for mass production. First pair malfunctioned, replaced by Niedecker. Second pair fell apart on the mountain. Even when they do work, stepping in and out only works 50% of the time. Totally not worth the extra weight. Even if you do love the idea, at least wait for the second generation.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

These are a game changer, get more runs in, spend less time sitting down, just buy them. Only "downsize" is they are a little heavier then standard bindings, but not really noticeable

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I ended up needing new boots and considered the Burton Step on System, but I have been riding since the late 80's and like the option of being able to exit out of my board if needed, in deep powder so I got the Nidecker Supermatics which provide the option to use the straps as needed. My boyfriend got the Burton Step Ons and I was just as fast off the lifts as he was. I felt stable and well supported. I had an issue with the front toe lever not locking so the toe strap came loose on four of my runs but I exchanged them for a different pair and they seem to be working properly. LOVE these!
