Excellent & well-designed
These are ideal for XC skiing off-trail to keep snow out of tops of boots. They are breathable, and that is a big plus. The closures are all velcro with cover flaps. The buckle adjustment under foot of boot even has a tab to insert the end of strap. I wear a size 9 women's and ordered the L/XL and v...

Rocky Mountain Low Gaiters
I ordered a S/M since I wear a womans sisze 8 shoe. The gaiters are much too small. They don't fit over my boots and the elastic at the top is too tight. I called customer service and was told the larger size is only 1/2" more elastic at the top. I have returned the item. I was disappointed because ...

Outdoor research large gaiters
I wear size 9.5 boots with narrow calves. I bought the large. The elastic top of the gaiters was very loose and i had to use straps to make them toght enough to stop debris from getting in. I had the straps on hand so its not a big problem but without them the gaiters would be useless.
Great, and easy to use, but needs lighter color
I borrowed a pair of these from a friend to attempt to keep ticks out of my pant legs while working in the woods. The borrowed ones, which are a light sage green, seem to work great for this purpose, and are easy to use, but I notice the ones in your current catalog are black. They would be much more useful for this purpose if they were a lighter color. (Light green, tan, or grey). The black would make it much harder to find ticks, and would be pretty hot in the summer. Thanks.
Room for improvement
Too wide and too short. I purchased the shorter model. It needs to be more form fitting with maybe a strap or elastic cuff around the upper ankle to keep it from billowing out and rubbing against the other foot or bushes which are beside the trail which may have ticks lying in wait to hitch a ride and a meal.
Keeps small seeds off my socks.
I occasionally go into a wooded area with my dog where in the fall there is an abundance of plants with small seeds at ankle height. To keep these nasty things from sticking to my socks, I use gaiters. Seems to do the trick.
Good fit; EZ to put on
These were just what I wanted for casual snowshoeing. They slip on quickly, and hook onto the laces of my boots easily. I got the large, and wear a women's size 9 hiking boot. I will wear them this summer for tick protection.
No more cold, wet post-holing on hikes in snow
I've never used gaiters before, having suffered through Rocky Mountain hikes with cold, wet feet. Not anymore! These gaiters fit well (get the larger size for your shoe size) and kept the snow out of my hiking boots perfectly. I do a fair amount of hiking here in the mountains and when I'm on packed trails I don't use snowshoes. The gaiters work!
Rocky Mountain Low Gaiters
Equipment was OK. Just that they were LOW gaiters, barely covered my socks. Returned them.
Not a quality product
I got the L/XL as the other reviewers recommended. They "fit" but are far from fitted like the full sized gators - they're more like leg warmers pooled at the ankle. The inside laminate (water resistance?) flaked off after ONE DAY of use, and I spent a week hiking with wet ankles and boots in my soaked little leg warmers. I returned these to the store without questions.
Work great
Bought these 8 or 10 years ago. The velcro has some pieces of sticker embedded, but they still fasten fine. We live in the Sierra foot hills and you can't walk fifty feet without getting a sock full of stickers. But when I put these on, nothing gets through and I come back, take off my socks and boots, and there is nothing to have to pull out. They don't look like anything special or high tech, but it is amazing what a great job they do, year after year.

Good fit and protection
Bought the L/XL low version for year round hiking to keep rocks, twigs and forest debri from entering boots. Also have serious tick problem in north central Pennsylvania and these give ticks one less entry point. Fit perfectly over size 10 hiking boot and go on and off in minutes. Second hiking season and would recommend to anyone. If your in heavy winter snow country, obviously get higher gaiters.
