High-Flow-valve Race Caps

The high-flow valve cap does not have a positive cut-off the way the push-pull cap does. This means any time the bottle is sucked or squeezed, fluid will come out, without having to open anything. Conceptually, this is convenient, and the flow rate is awesome. Unfortunately, this can be bad news if you have filled your bottles to put them into your drop bags for ultraruns (or triathlons or adventure events). If the bottles come under any pressure in transport to the aid stations, fluids will spurt out and soak other gear in the drop bag. I like the 18-oz bottles as they give me extra capacity in the Fire-Ball vest, which I love, but I have bought old-style push-pull caps to replace the new style caps.

I have the SpeedDraw Plus Insulated Flask, and the replacement race caps do not seal well, they dripping water (all 3).
