Peace of Mind
I weekend backpack & day hike in the Colorado mountains year round and also do a yearly week long section hike of the Appalachian Trail. Some of the places I hike have no cell reception. This year I had 2 incidents in remote areas (no cell service) that made me question what I would of done if somet...

App Functions lost when message limit reached
The mini-2 and Garmin Messenger app worked great on my first trip in the wilderness until my limit of 20 messages was reached. At that point the App user interface lost most functionality (as I didn't have cellular connection). It was my understanding that I had continued full use of my mini-2 eve...

Just understand that with any of these devices, if you're under canopy, it most likely won't work. So you need to be able to crawl to a clearing. Haha It was a real pain to set up. You need two or three Garmin apps
Great for motorcycle riding
Had the Inreach Explorer for years and it worked well for my motorcycle adventures. BUT I mounted it on the motorcycle vs on me due to its size. In the unfortunate event of a crash I might have found myself in a situation where I was unable to reach the Inreach thus making it useless when needed most. The Inreach Mini2 solves this issue due to its much smaller size. Also the UI is much easier to navigate! So far I am very happy with the upgrade to the Mini2 and look forward to using it on my next 11 day moto camping trip. BONUS, my wife has much more peace of mind when I am out adventuring as she know when I am starting, stopping and on the move. And should the unfortunate happen knows where I am to send help short of a send everyone emergency. Thanks Garmin!!
Great features
I glad to have the added security. I off road motorcycle ride.
Too complex
Still learning but it's pretty complicated trying to this to work with other Garmin products
Peace of Mind Anywhere
Bought it for adventure motorcycle riding up in the mountains where cell service sucks. Nice to check in with the wife from time to time when there's no cell service which is more often than not.
Gotta get use to it
Just activated it and it's kinda difficult to do entries but I'm slowly getting it. My phone doesn't show it connected to Bluetooth although it is paired with my phone .
Easy to use
I bought this about a month ago. Quick and easy to setup. Easily added friends and family to be able to communicate in an emergency in case it's ever needed along with knowing that there's a support team if it's needed, gives great peace of mind. The typo maps helps to give you an idea of the terrain in a specific area. As a truck driver, I go through areas where I will lose service for cellphone. As a ham radio operator and knowing how long it can take to setup in an emergency, having something like this is invaluable. Seconds matter in an emergency.
