Great Running Shoe
The Saucony Guide 17 is a great every day training shoe. I feel well supported, stable and appreciate the soft cushion and lightness to the shoe. The sidewalls are significant, and the base feels wide and comfortable. I also love the overall look and design. Feel it's on trend with other runners on ...

Guide 17 changed a lot and for the worse.
The changes with the Guide 17 over the Guide 16 and prior generations makes this a no go for me. The Guide 17 is a noticeably larger shoe than the Guide 16 and prior generations. The foot strike area is different than prior Guide shoes. The size. The Guide 17 is large and wide and felt awkward and ...

Roomy toebox like the classic Altras (or the old New Balance SL-2 last), for folks with straight feet like me. Good cushion but not pillowy. Planning to use this as an everyday trainer.

The latest version of the Guide is a big improvement on the past versions. Very lightweight and with a lot more cushion without sacrificing any of the stability.
Wide toe box!
My favorite thing about the shoe is the wide toe box so my toes aren't squished. They are also extremely comfy and I'm able to run long distances without my feet hurting.
HELP! What happened to my Saucony Brand!
I agree with the other review about making Saucony like Hokas...leave them be! The base on these shoes are too wide to get good movement in your ankles and foot. The rocker base and the softness of the shoe make the legs and feet sore. I always commended Saucony on never having a break-in period...I wish I could find the right shoe that I used to wear! My physical therapist liked my Hurricanes due to the narrow base to get good movement out of my ankles and feet after breaking my foot. Seems as if the arches have been lowered in all the shoes...
Good support
The shoe is very stable and gives alot of support for heavy landers.
Guide 17's
Love my new Guide 17's, bit of a change from the 15 and 16's, but really enjoy these.
All around great shoe!
Great shoes! Very comfortable, I used to struggle with shin splints and these have drastically reduced them! Due to the extra cushioning I found they're not the best for speed but they're great for long distance running!
Guide 17 did not work for me.
The soles of the Guide 17 sneakers are too high and too hard for me. They hurt my lower back. Guide 16 sneakers are perfect for me.
The size. The Guide 17 is large and wide and felt awkward and uncomfortable to walk and run in. The widest part of the shoe, the forefoot area is nearly 5 inches wide, a half inch wider than the Guide 16. The midfoot area on the Guide 17 is nearly 3.5 inches wide while it is barely 2.75 inches on the Guide 16. The heel area is on the Guide 17 is over 4 inches wide while it's a just under 3.5 inches on the Guide 16. When I opened the box I initially thought I had been sent a wide width or had mistakenly ordered something other than medium width. It's like the shoe has become an extra extra wide. Foot strike area. The Guide 16 and prior generations my foot strike zone would be the forefoot area but the Guide 17 is the heel to midfoot area. The offset of the shoe changed from the Guide 16 to 17 or the description on the website and the shoe are wrong. The website lists the Guide 17 as having an 8mm offset which is the same 8mm offset for the Guide 16 but the actual Guide 17 I received has a 6mm offset printed on the sole of the shoe.
