I've had this carrier for two years and have experienced problems similar to those listed elsewhere on this page. I close the box (empty) and lock it. The quality of the box is decent but the locks are horrible. They're cheap looking, feeling and operating. Locks frequently get stuck. Also the 4 tightening wheels are unbelievable difficult to tension in order to get the "two clicks" that ensure secure product behavior. Would not buy this product again.

Quality product, easy installation despite some comments I read…plug in you car make model and year and it sizes it perfectly (or at least did for my 2023 Chevy Traverse). Less than an hour start to finish to install and most of that was walking from one side of the car to the other to get everything perfectly aligned.

I was using a soft roof bag but it only lasted for a few years and was bit of a pain to set-up with the straps. I got the force XT L because it fits well on my 4runner and was easy to install - since all of our skis are less than 175 cm, the XT L was a good option. You don't even notice it while driving, whether empty or full. Adds so much functionality. A great product overall.
