Very comfortable and lightweight. Tore after single use
I was going to wait to write this review until I had a real opportunity to try out these pants snowboarding. I wore these on the mountain 1 time at the start of the year and they failed completely (picture below). I didn't do anything aside from regular snowboarding and didn't even notice the tear u...

I still have northface ski pants that i bought 25 years ago - these got a serious hole after 3 days of normal use. Northface has really gone down hill - DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!
yes
Comments about Men’s Dawnstrike GORE-TEX® Pants
The Gore-Tex pants I purchased are everything I expected and then some. Just like my Gore-Tex jacket I purchased 22 years ago and is still going strong.
Hole after 5 times, buyer beware
Comments about Men’s Dawnstrike GORE-TEX® Pants
Hole in the left hamstring area after just 5 uses. No reason for the hole, no accident or fall, just fabric falling apart. At the price point of these pants, they should hold up to regular wear and tear of skiing. Buyer beware, these are premium price point pants without the quality. The North Face will not warranty my pair because the tear isn't at a seam, so it's clearly my fault… Now I'll have to patch my brand new pants and hope they don't fall apart elsewhere….
Zero Stock Snow Pants
Comments about Men’s Dawnstrike GORE-TEX® Pants
I've been trying to buy either the Mens Chakal or Gore Tex Pants for awhile now. Out of stock on the Large-Short on both for quite awhile. My old North Face after 20 years is now finally tearing. I wonder if it will be summer before I can buy new ski pants. Mine are done so I guess I will have to buy another brand. I wonder if the new North Face is the same quality as the old North Face of 20 years ago or with the new recycled materials even if I could buy today not sure if would last 3 years....
poor quality - pocket zipper broke in first use
Comments about Men’s Dawnstrike GORE-TEX® Pants
very disappointing quality for the price. i had a pair of NF ski pants that lasted 20 years of annual ski trips. The pocket zipper on these failed in the 1st use.
Yes! In fact these are the ONLY ski pants I buy nowadays!
Comments about Men’s Dawnstrike GORE-TEX® Pants
These same pants used to be called the "Powder Flo," and for some reason The North Face stopped making them for a couple seasons, so I'm glad they're now back as the "Dawnstrike." Over the years I have ordered 4 of these pants, 3 for me and now one for my new fiancee. (The first set I had finally got raggedy in the cuff due to use and abuse, so I ordered a replacement. Then later I lost weight so I now have the next size down as well.) Simply put, these are the best ski pants on the planet. The durability of the outer layer material, the Gore-Tex membrane, and the large and perfectly placed zippered pockets for everything I normally carry on the slopes is a must for me. It doesn't make sense to me why most ski pants these days skimp on the pockets, except I guess some people find it's a more attractive streamlined look, which is really quite foolish considering the benefit most skiers would get from having the storage space of 4 reasonably large front-accessible pockets. Of course all of this wouldn't mean much if these ski pants didn't fit well, and I can personally attest that they fit exceptionally well. Aside from their overall design and construction, the huge benefit with these ski pants are that they are available in 3 different leg lengths. Why aren't the vast majority of other ski clothing manufacturers doing this? Probably because they assume the consumer to be ignorant and overlook that, I guess. But for me, as I have shorter legs, it's a huge deal! Before I discovered The North Face ski pants, it was always annoying when I used to find myself stepping on the back of the lower cuff of other ski pants from other brands I used to have before. Now that I have these pants from The North Face, I no longer have that problem. My only wish is that The North Face offered these pants in one or two insulated versions, because they're more of a shell, although the 3 layers do add some amount of insulating value
North Face is the best

Nice pants for the Dawnstrike jacket with the right size overfit. (I'm 6' tall and 175 lbs. and they fit me really nicely. I'm worried that they won't stand up to wear and tear the way my Burton AK stuff does. The fabric feels thin and wimpy and has a soft hand that makes it suspect. I also really don't like the two tiny little plastic snaps that are supposed to hold the pants together with a little Velcro patch above the zipper. Wish they were big and easy to feel metal snaps that you can maneuver easily with gloves on.
