Great for Running, Waterproof Put to the Test
My phone reads 19:06 when I pick it up to check the temp outside, 41d; cold out for early April, so I put on some layers before stepping into my blue Hoka's and lacing them up. Many things weigh on me that I seek to sort in prayer on a simple, 26-minute out-and-back walk, past the lake and followin...

The arch part of the soles are already wearing out
I purchased these shoes because they are waterproof and the traction pods passed the dremel test on a Website that reviewed them. I wear them mainly to walk and run with our dog on pavement/concrete/dirt/wet & dry grass. I bought them October 20, 2024 and wore them the first time the next day. I ...

My First Pair of Hoka's
I've had these shoes for 18 months and they're in my rotation with several others including a style of Hoka's my wife purchased for me. I am completely satisfied. I purchased them because the website said they would stand up to the weather and winter walking in Colorado snow can be slippery and wet. Not with these shoes they're great for walking or running on slippery Colorado winter roads. They're also very comfortable and even now as they are somewhat tread worn they're sure footed on snowy, icy, wet roads and sidewalks. I think they're exceptionally and I will purchase another pair at some point.
Awesome comfort
This is the best pair of shoes I have ever put on. I am on my feet constantly moving working.
I am buying the Clifton 10 as soon as they come out.
I love them. They are the most comfortable shoes that I have.
Traction pods
I love the comfort that HoKA provides but my last two pairs of Clifton's just didn't last that long. The traction pods started to rip off after 1 month of use so I sent them back for another pair. That pair was mostly fine and lasted a bit longer. THEN I got the Clifton GTX's and the traction pods were ripping off my shoes within 3 months of wear. I wear them for work and daily walking in New York City but I've never had soles completely fall apart on me twice. It just seems as though they are rushing manufacturing of these shoes and not using proper glue or whatever they need to keep the traction pods from ripping off. Unfortunately, i will be avoiding their traction pod system and possibly trying a different goretex shoe they offer and go from there. Also, with the goretex system I had to size up a half size.
Wobbly and imbalanced
Bought this on an orthopedic doctors recommendation for a bad ankle. Unfortunately seems very imbalanced, with my weight not correctly being distributed (always felt like my ankles are going to twist inwards). I've worn dozens of brands, never really had an issue. I would strongly suggest folks try this out in person, and at least retain boxes etc for returning things until their first longer wear session.

Official Response by HOKA ONE ONE
Imbalanced and wobbly? This style certainly won't work and we encourage you to take advantage of our 30-day guarantee bit.ly/HOKA30Day to send them back for another style. Stability meets ultimate comfort in our Arahi 7 and we think this style could be everything you need with it's J-Frame™ midsole support and supportive flat-knit upper. You can easily get your pair by starting your worry free exchange here: bit.ly/HOKAEXRT.
I would buy this product again
This shoe is perfect for wet weather hiking. Hiked in Olympic National Park in the rain for several days straight. Also ran in the rain. My feet stayed dry and comfortable. Highly recommend this shoe.
Great for Running, Waterproof Put to the Test
My phone reads 19:06 when I pick it up to check the temp outside, 41d; cold out for early April, so I put on some layers before stepping into my blue Hoka's and lacing them up. Many things weigh on me that I seek to sort in prayer on a simple, 26-minute out-and-back walk, past the lake and following the path encircling the tree that I call "one tree." As I approach the cluster of white-blossomed trees that harbor the one-tree at the midpoint, I observe sunlight glinting off a steady stream of water flowing across the path in front of me. In several years walking here there has never been water across this path, but recent spring rains have completely cut off my path to the one tree with flowing water from the nearby river. Winter running proved my Clifton GTX's to be real snowcats; I wanted to see just how waterproof they were. I step out into the water, at first just toes deep. So far so good. I continue walking as the water gets progressively deeper and deeper, the current starting to run over the top of my feet and down toward the pond on the left. Soon the upper of the blue on my shoes is completely submerged as I wade through the current. The one tree is less than 50ft in front of me, but I stop because one more step and water will start pouring over my ankles. Standing there with my shoes submerged in flowing water, amazingly my feet seem to be totally dry. I turn around and wade back through the water without even a splash on my ankles. My shoes didn't even look very wet; water beaded on top in some places and otherwise dried very quickly. Sitting here on the floor, writing in my journal immediately afterward, my socks are bone dry. No water even got in through the lacing system, though the level got that high. Amazing. Never had running shoes like this.
