A Top-Tier Racer
I'm a huge fan of the Cielo X1 but didn't think it was a top-tier racing shoe. I use it mainly for long runs at moderate to fast paces and tempo/threshold workouts. It was just a little too heavy for going all-out. The 2.0 is a different animal and is almost 1.5oz lighter, which is a huge difference...

Never had problems pronating before this shoe
I was really excited to try out the shoe, having run thousands of miles in Cliftons, Rincons, and Machs without any difficulty. I wanted to love this shoe. I really did. And when I put it on my foot, it felt wonderful. The laces were great, the toebox, the feel of the upper, everything was perfect. ...

Great Race Shoes
These shoes are well worth the investment, I have PR'd in multiple races since I started wearing them. The rocker in the shoes makes it very easy to hold the race day pace and they're insanely light.
Looks like a great shoe but....
This shoe was amazing definitely a change first wore them. Got a PR on my training run that was all street and I absolutely LOVE the style of the shoe as the colors and shape were a perfect esthetic combination! Unfortunately, this shoe was worse than the video reviews I found all over the internet. The stability was so rough that I felt as though I was going to twist my ankles on the first two runs. I normally land on my mid foot when I run but as I start to fatigue, I generally turn into a mid- heel striker. The cushion was top notch but it felt like if I took a sharp turn around a corner, I'd have tumbled on the side of the pavement. Great shoe in looks, just not in stability. I hope the next generation fixes the issue with the heel. I wish it was solid from the midfoot to the heel. As for the price, seemed a little high but the super shoe it is, it's kinda expected.
Not for heavy "slow" runners!!
These shoes were not made for heavy "slower" runners (since slow is comparative), I'd say slow is anyone who can't run faster than 6:00 min mile pace for a long effort. STOP giving these negative reviews because you want to buy fast expensive running shoes bc you're just rich old fat ppl. These are made for skinny fast marathon runners and they are great for that! Better than the last version.
A Top-Tier Racer
I'm a huge fan of the Cielo X1 but didn't think it was a top-tier racing shoe. I use it mainly for long runs at moderate to fast paces and tempo/threshold workouts. It was just a little too heavy for going all-out. The 2.0 is a different animal and is almost 1.5oz lighter, which is a huge difference. It also isn't as stable as the first version due to the narrow heel, but it's meant for speed and engaging forefoot/mid-foot strikes and then a smooth rollover with the aggressive rocker. When picking up the pace, the 2.0 sings with a great balance between propulsive bounce and smooth turnover. I have all the top-tier racers from various brands and the 2.0 might very well be my favorite although I've only had a few runs in it. Stability will be an issue for some - especially heel strikers. The sweet spot is in between forefoot and mid-foot strikes. Feels best at fast paces but also good at moderate paces. I'd say it isn't good for easy/recovery types of runs. This shoe wants to go fast!
Worst Hoka shoe by far
I have been a faithful fan of Hoka shoes for the past few years and this is the worst shoe that I've owned. The heel is so unstable that I have injured my knee running in them. The Ceilo x1 is way more stable. Very disappointed

Secret Weapon
Don't buy this unless you want to go fast! I thought it was a scam. Its not.
Performance - Wonderful; Color?
I'm an average runner - not fast. I ran the 2024 DC Rock & Roll Half with v1 and 2025 with v2. I dropped 5 seconds per/mile with v2 with less training. My feet is on the wide side (wear wide for Mach). The fit and stability is same from v1 to v2. They are both very strange to walk in but running is great. You need to be a mid/fore foot striker. I'm saving them for the MCM this October. As for the color scheme... Bit much.
No support, AT all got shinsplints in one leg
Was very disappointed, I know racing shoes aren't supportive, but I could feel my left ankle wobbling in these. I managed to finish my half marathon with them, but ended up with shin splints and it hurt to walk back to my hotel in my inner left leg. They did not give me any blisters though, yay. I just wish they weren't so wobbly. Since I got them with a free coupon (as a race ambassador--thank you Hoka!!) customer service said I could not try a new shoe, only send these back as "defective" and try the same exact shoe again, which is worth a shot since I've never had an ankle problem in my left side before. Maybe the left shoe was defective?? I did wear the Cielo 1 and although not a perfect shoe, my ankle didn't wobble

Feeling unstable in your pair is definitely not the experience we want you to have. It sounds like something may not be quite right as you shouldn't feel any difference in your pair. Had a problem
They hurt the side of my feet tremendously. Never had this happen before with previous 10+ Hoka's.
