Not the best anymore

Gregory's Baltoro was probably the best choice when it comes to quality, practicality and value, but the truth must be spoken. The new 2022 'version' of the backpack is a downgrade of what it was before. It's not just a lack of previously included raincover and a daypack/hydration pouch holder, it l...

Spacious, Burley, and Heavy

Seems like I could fit more than 65L in this pack but the pack itself contributed a lot of weight. Extra pockets were minimal which is good in my opinion. I enjoyed having access to the main body of the pack through the zipper and my water bottle through the angled holder. After my first trip my sho...

Took this on a 5 day Yosemite hiking trip. Fit everything I needed and held up well to the rough conditions - and poor treatment from tossing it around - great durability and reliability!

This is my 3rd Baltoro 65. My kids keep stealing them as the get big enough. Love the new upgrades. Could be lighter, but so could I.

I have been an avid camper forever. I was using a Gregory 45 but needed an upgrade for a 2 week adventure in the desert. Well made and very comfortable. So far everything has been great. Better fit than my 45 but I can't wear it while riding my mountain bike. The only thing I cannot understand is why my 45 came with a built in rain cover and the 65 doesn't. I initially purchased the osprey but my wife and daughter have them and the "osprey creak" when you walk drove me nuts.

When you forget you are wearing a pack, then someone has done something right! The suspension system on this pack is phenomenal. The number of pockets is perfect as it allows the user to get a system in place and access what is needed at a particular time at any time. This pack is great for anyone who will be carrying heavier loads for longer amounts of time. Just make sure you look carefully at the sizing options.

Super supportive and has the pockets in all of the right places. The tilted bottle pocket is a great feature and makes reaching for my water while walking extremely easy and comfortable.

I've tried ultralight packs. I've tried mid-range price point packs. I've tried alpine packs. Nothing compares to this one. 12 days back country and never sore. Intuitive design for easy reach everything. Unmatched comfort. Fits like a glove. I don't feel like I'm carrying it; it fits like a part of my body. Very durable (had to descend around 1000ft of steep scree on my bottom and not a scratch on the bottom of my pack). It's a little heavier than the ultralights that are very popular now, but I'm happy to carry the extra weight if it means super padded straps and hip belt. It's also small enough to fit in an overhead bin on planes. In my opinion it's the rolls Royce of backpacking packs. Quality matches the price. I've had two daypacks in the past 12 years- both Gregory, both used daily. I've never had a Gregory pack I didn't love.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Very comfortable. The waistband is more rigid than other brands I tried which I liked because it distributed the weight of the pack more evenly across my hips and took most of the weight off my shoulders. Plenty of space for everything I needed for a 5 day backpacking trip.

This bag has been awesome. I have only done a two night trip so far, but it was very easy to adjust to make it very comfortable. My pack weight with water was around 35lbs and it was very easy to carry that weight. I like having some gear separation and the pockets on this bag did great for that. Only thing I would change is including a rain cover again for the newer models like Gregory did on previous versions on this bag.
