Description
Designed for long expeditions and tough conditions, the QUEST is grippy and supportive. Salomon updated the chassis to target sensitive articulations and wrap the foot for extra support, while also keeping your stride fluid. No matter how tired you are or how heavy your pack, the QUEST 4 GTX ensures a stable yet smooth ride on any terrain.
- Contagrip TD Outsole: For maximum traction on mixed terrain and extended durability, Contagrip TD combines a deep, aggressive lug pattern with our most durable compound.
- ADV-C 4D Chassis: Protecting ankle articulations on the outer foot, this chassis provides extra stability, as well as more support around the heel to reduce fatigue when wearing a heavy backpack.
- GORE-TEX keeps your feet dry -from the outside as well as from the inside.
- EnergyCell: A high performance EVA foam that provides shock attenuation.
- Nubuck leather: Quality full-grain leather material for longer wear and durability.
- Water Repellent: A special treatment is applied to provide extra protection, ensuring that the fabric does not absorb water during light rain and showers.
- Mesh and textile lining: A soft, breathable lining for extreme comfort.
- Gusseted tongue: The tongue is connected to the upper on both sides, preventing debris from entering the shoe, and keeping the tongue centered.
- Protective toecap: A protective piece of rubber, leather or synthetic material over the toe area.
- SensiFit cradles the foot from the midsole to the lacing system, providing a secure, snug, and virtually customized fit all around the foot.
- Protective mudguard: A wrap of leather, synthetic or rubber around the base of the foot that protects the lateral and medial sides of the foot.
- Active Support: These mobile wings help hold the foot in place and accompany its movement, adapting to its shape and volume.
- Molded OrthoLite sockliner provides superior cushioning, as well as breathability and durability, to upgrade the comfort and performance of our footwear.
- Regular laces: Traditional lacing system with eyelets.

OUT OF THE BOX
I've had these boots for almost two years. Most people will complain that they haven't lasted "two seasons" but my boots easily have over 500 miles on them. Straight out of the box they were ready to go, required no break in period which I loved because my feet didn't get murdered. My boots have bee...

Very poor quality materials, falls apart quickly!
These QUEST 4D 3 GTX hiking boots failed just a few months after purchasing them in July 30, 2020. After the separation/failure of the seams, water and dirt from rainy hikes damaged the leather causing it to crack, fall apart and curl, now catching and becoming tattered on trail rocks, roots and tw...

Poor quality and materials failed after one use
I used these boots one time for an 8 mile backpacking trip and the toe protector began to peel and the tread began to fall apart. There is glue residue everywhere and when I checked other pairs in the store they all had glue residue. Salomon use to make great products but lately since they were bought out their quality has dropped. Thanks to sports basement awesome return policy I was able to return them although the cashier tried to dent my return due to the amount of time that had passed since I first purchased the boot, even though it was only used once!
Great warranty
My husband loves these boots but had a slight problem with the sole when a section tore away. Salomon was excellent in processing the replacement under the warranty. Great company, Great boots.
My favorite boot ever owned.
Normally, I try shoe after shoe at the store, walk around in multiple pairs, and still can't make a decision. The Quest 4 Gore-Tex Boots were love at first fitting. I tried them on and knew they were the right boot. Great support, very comfy. Light weight, easy to hike in. Didn't have to break them in. I prefer a little wider size than normal, but this boot had enough room for me. I would re buy them.
Quest 4 Gore-Tex
My first pair of Salomon boots... I was a fan of another brand previously, but their quality seems to have declined. These fit well, they are firm, supportive, and comfortable to wear all day. I've worn them for a couple of months, so I can't say much for their durability, but I'm guessing I will get many miles out of them.
All terrain footwear
This products offers exactly what they promise, it's a great boot for general purpose, good for summer and excellent for more cold enviroments where the Goretex lining shines and keep water out and your feet warm.
Quest 4
Replacing a well worn pair of Quest shoes, so far the Q4 is great! A tad stiff out of the box but after 3-4 hikes they're comfortable and very secure. Durability is important, hope these last as long as the pair they replaced...
Lightweight Support
I am a Clydesdale: 6'2" and 235 lbs on a good day. 2 steel hips and a fused heel. When I buy my backpacking boots, I "go ugly, early". Up: Easiest high top hiking boots I have ever slipped my feet into. It's like putting on a ski boot. 2 years ago, I hiked about 200 miles in my Vasque Breezes. Loved them, but then Vasque "dumbed down" the Breeze. Salomon was a Dark Horse candidate that has now become a favorite. Slightly lighter than my old Breezes and better toe box fit and good foundation support. A blessing on the rockier trails and pavement. Down: Putting on the the speed lacing works well. Getting the laces out of the bottom hook was absolutely hateful for the first 3 months. I have figured out the proper body English and use of force and everything seems to work well now. Hmmmm... A very different top of the boot design where it wraps around your leg over the ankle. The Breeze was a solid horizontal wrap and felt very secure. This is a more contoured wrap that is comfortable and seems to provide adequate for the trails I am hiking while carrying a 20 lb pack. Time will tell.
Great shoe
I have owned several pairs of these shoes I really like the comfort and the support they provide for an everyday shoe.
Great product!
Does everything you'd expect out of a great backpacking boot. Awesome
