Great Piece, but not what I was looking for
I've owned the Everyday Long Sleeve Half Zip for several years, back when they didn't even make the Oasis. I was never quite sure what the difference between the two was, until I bought this. I've used the Everyday LS top as a snug base layer, either under a cyciing jersey, or while running (I don't...

Through the wringer
Sizing is good I suppose I got size L im 6'2" 210, its v tight but xl is HUGE on me. My main issue is its very short, i cant tuck it in anywhere and if i bend over in the slightest it rides up my back. I used to wear it at work while I was all the way up North in a site office and even sitting at a ...

Perfect base layer in rain
This product works much better than Polypro that I've used for years. It's soft wicks moisture away and doesn't stink! Will replace all my base layers with this!
Odd fit for a 'technical' top.
The first Icebreaker item I ever tried on, ten years ago, was an Oasis 200 Zip. I remember it being too tight in the shoulder and arms in a Small but just too big all over in a Medium and I settled on an Everyday Rib-Knit 1/2 zip instead as it was a much better shape for me. Having read that the fit of the Oasis had recently been improved I thought I'd try one as I found it heavily discounted. The fit has become really odd - rather boxy all over and way too loose at the neck to be seriously considered as a base layer. I've been toting it around as a just-in-case mid layer to go over a form-fitting merino mesh base layer with a tall, close-fitting neck but have decided to go back to the Everyday top to perform this function instead as I preferred its stretchniess and remember the ribbed material feeling less 'fuggy' than the jersey knit of the Oasis. The Oasis will find use for day to day activities, rather than as a technical top, but I shan't buy another. Had to modify my nickname to post this review -why?
Base layers for Clipper Rade
Absolutely the best. Currently testing the products sailing in the Solent.
Th best
Fantastic product Does what it says on the tin Beautiful fabric against skin as a skiing base layer Neck is quite high and can collapse a bit when not zipped up fully (minor niggle)
Lads ski trip
Used it as a base layer and it did everything it said it would . Really comfortable no itchiness at all. I sweat a lot and it regulated my body temperature brilliantly and kept the heat in when we stopped . I was skeptical about the no stink claim but it worked perfectly over 3 days !!!
Versatile base layer
This is a lightweight base layer. If you're going to standing around, you might want to consider something thicker. The cut is comfy, even perhaps slightly "loose", so it is not a "skin tight" like other base layers. I weigh in at 70kg and measure1.75cm and took the M. The length of the body and arms is good and the shirt doesn't "rise up" when moving around e.g. climbing. The styling is good and it can easily be used as a lightweight "jumper" for casual wear as well as outdoor pursuits. All in all, good value for money.
Deliciously comfortable warmth
Great fit, extremely comfortable and soft, what a great way to stay warm and dry. I am going to purchase another one slightly larger to facilitate layering for colder less active days.
8 days and counting...
The Oasis Long Sleeve Half Zip is exactly what you would expect from Icbreaker: breathes really well, super soft, insulating, and somehow remains un-smelly. I have worn this layer for ski touring up Patagonian volcanoes to training jogs in humid Virginia conditions and it has performed better than I ever expected. I was initially hesitant about wearing a black long sleeve layer for a mid day jog in late summer/early fall but off I went. I was amazed by how well it wicked sweat and kept me as cool as any other layer I usually wore for training. It also dried quicker than other layers of similar weight, including other merino wool layers. In cold, dry conditions, it performed at equally as high a level. The Oasis wicked sweat away from my skin and kept my dry even while my level of physical exertion increased. It shed mild winds (below 10mph) but medium to high winds cut right through it (15mph +). This is pretty consistent with other layers I have of similar weight. The one weakness of merino wool that I always find is its durability. To test this, I have treated this layer as roughly as I might a synthetic or blended baselayer. After several months of hard testing (equivalent to a year plus of normal wear) the layer is still performing at the extremely high level expected of Icebreaker products. I also put it to the smell test. I am on day 8 of wearing it for ski tours and shredding some sweet, sweet cold smoke and can barely tell the difference (it even passed the mom test). Overall, this layer represents a sweet spot in baselayers. It keeps you cool when its hot and keeps you warm when it's cold. It wicks away moisture and resists the odoriferous tendencies of synthetic layers. Combined with the comfort and fit of Icebreaker, this baselayer is a valuable piece for all.
Best from all
I bought this three weeks ago and used it a lot, skiing at -1 to -13 Celsius and , running at 4 and 6 degrees Celsius. All I can say I had bunch of merino layes, from icebreaker to smartwool, arcteryx etc, but this is just incredible soft and warm. It's 200mg so it's not too heavy either. I just love it. I'll buy two more just because it's a great product. Buy it! You'll thank me later. As a ski instructor I have to stay warm and dey for many hours on the mountain. This is now my "to go" base layer.
Ski touring in comfort
Previously I've always had trouble keeping my temperature regulated when doing high-intensity activities such as ski touring and mountaineering.... enter the 200gm merino Oasis Long Sleeve Half Zip! On top of the lightweight and breathable merino fabric (while still being warm), I really love the deep venting the half zip provides when you really start cooking on the climb. All in all this baselayer is a great top for sometimes-sweaty winter activities.
