Description
Street-approved. Trail tested. Built at the intersection of road and trail, the Challenger 7 has been completely reimagined from the ground up. Combining a simplified mesh upper with a soft new foam, Hoka increased the stack height for a plusher feel and added proprietary rubber to the bottom unit, along with a reimagined outsole design for the best all-terrain ride yet. Inspired by gravel tires, they’ve cued up smaller, tightly spaced lugs in center and larger, more aggressive lugs at the perimeter designed for improved traction on uneven terrain.

Worth a Try

This is my first time trying a crossover shoe that combines both trail and road shoe features. I was a little skeptical but made the purchase thinking they could help me for a race on a hard packed and not so technical trail. They performed great! After 67 miles I only changed socks once and even th...

This shoe is not worth the money.

Let me start off with the facts: I didn't buy these from this site. They were suggested by an authorized dealer, as I suffer from intermittent plantar fasciitis. I am overweight. Most shoes I buy around $40-50, because I go thru them quickly. However, my roommate/best buy decided to spoil me for my ...

I am a size 9 in women 7 in men but the sneakers I purchased felt tight I would have gotten one size bigger not as comfortable as I thought they would be.

I wrote a review a few months back about how quickly these shoes fell apart after very limited and casual use. Despite my warranty return being well within a year of my purchase and despite hoka customer service responding to my first review with a suggested warranty return, my shoes were returned back to me without a refund for being "out of warranty". So now I am out the money for these shoes and shipping. I assume this falling apart shoe is somehow justified as normal and expected wear. I won't be replacing my barely functional challenger 7s with another pair of hokas. I am super disappointed since these shoes were so comfortable but I guess I learned a tough lesson. This is not my first pair oh Hoka's.. I have 4 others(Bondi and Transport among others). These, however, have a horrible issue with sweat and stench. They smell horrible after a day of use, they are very nice looking, but when you take them off, OMG. I took them for their maiden ride on a trip. Since it is a work trip I have been using more formal shoes and on the off days the Hoka Challengers. When I were the other shoes, even though I am quite active there is NO smell, but if I wear the challengers for day wear(not even running or working out), the stench after a few hours is like a cheese I woudl have saved in my closet in 1986 and recently discovered... how do I get rid of them???

I'm a long time Hoka customer, at least 6 pair and a pair of boots, I have to say I'm disappointed in last 2 purchases (I was able to return both for full refund), the shoes are not near as comfortable and fit was not the same as before. I am going to go to a store now and give em one more shot bc I have always absolutely loved them.

My honest review is the challenger 7 is very comfy especially it has the wide fit version, the problem is the shoe never last over a year despite being worn for regular walking only, fabric starts to fall apart, especially where the fold area of the shoes, and the inside of the heel.I would think for the price of it,it should last a little longer. But again,it is one of the most comfy shoes i've owned.

I've had 8 to 10 pairs of different models of Hokas over the past 5 or so years. This is the second pair that didn't hold up and fell apart very quickly. The sole, outside material, and inside material by the heal broke down in 20 uses trail running and light hiking. I saw other reviews explaining the same issues with no honored warranty by Hoka. I am a very disappointed consumer. I don't belive I'd purchase another pair

This is disappointing to learn about your experience. You should never have to question the quality of our products, and we value your feedback. Our one-year warranty covers manufacturing and material defects. We encourage you to send them back along with your proof of purchase to be evaluated by our warranty team. Shoes do not last

Bought a pair of Challenger ATRs GTX and the sole is coming apart about a year after first use. The treads off my sole are coming off and Hoka Customer Service (Elliot) could only suggest using shoe glue. Customer service is a joke. You pay $100-200 for a pair of shoes and they come apart after a year? As the other reviewer said, these shoes are way overpriced for the quality.

Official Response by HOKA ONE ONE

We understand how discouraging it would be to encounter this while trying to send in your pair to be evaluated. As manufacturing and material defects tend to present themselves within the first year of continuous wear, our warranty is only available for one-year after purchase. If you would like to learn more about our policy and what's covered, click here bit.ly/HOKAWty.

I've purchased these exact shoes for years because they help with my knees. Wear and tear in addition to sports injuries have caused a lot of knee pain but these shoes make walking and working out much easier. My husband and I both wear them and re-purchase. I hope one day we can get every color!
