Worth a Try
This is my first time trying a crossover shoe that combines both trail and road shoe features. I was a little skeptical but made the purchase thinking they could help me for a race on a hard packed and not so technical trail. They performed great! After 67 miles I only changed socks once and even th...

This shoe is not worth the money.
Let me start off with the facts: I didn't buy these from this site. They were suggested by an authorized dealer, as I suffer from intermittent plantar fasciitis. I am overweight. Most shoes I buy around $40-50, because I go thru them quickly. However, my roommate/best buy decided to spoil me for my ...

Great ATR hiking shoe.
This is my second Hoka Challanger 7 in two years and I hope this one in different color will wolk just as good. I walked many miles in my last pair to include CCamino Portuguese in Portugal in Spain.
Not A Great Fitting Shoe-Would Not Buy Again
This shoe was advertised to be the trail counterpart to the Clifton 9 running shoe, which I love. I wear a wide width, and the Clifton 9 and Bondi 8 are great. However, the Challenger 7 is much too narrow in the toe box area and the shoe is very stiff and not flexible. Having achilles tendonitis, I generally love Hoka shoes, but these changed my mind. Stay away from the Challenger 7 shoe unless you have very narrow feet.

Squished feet are a pain and we know having the right fit is important to comfort. Perhaps our Speedgoat 6, also available in wide, could be just the style to help you tear up the trails. Good but Lack durability
I started off when I bought these saying I'd buy another pair when the time came but after only 4 months I can't say that anymore. After about a month the heel started to ware through which has never happened to me with any shoe and after just 4 months of ware the outsole has started to delaminate and peel from the bottom of the shoe.

Official Response by HOKA ONE ONE
When tearing up the trail, durability is key. Through our one-year warranty, you can send in your pair to be evaluated for manufacturing and material defects. You can learn more about our warranty and how to get started by clicking here: bit.ly/HOKAWty.
I already have and actually I bought extra ones
I bought Clifton sevens and transports in the past I thought they were very nice. I had noticed that the Clifton sevens are very loose on my foot so I was really happy when I saw that the challenger sevens came. It's a very slim tighter fitting shoe it's the best shoe I think I've come across ever and I've now bought two extra pairs cause I'm afraid you're gonna stop making them like you do. I wanna have extra pairs to wear for a while love the color love the shoe.
Comfortable but terrible longevity and poor customer service
I currently own five pairs of Hokas - Bondis, Speed Goats, and these Challengers. Most are comfortable and have lasted well. This model though is prone to tread separation. My current pair have five areas where the nubby tread is separating from the sole after less than 20 wearings. Sections of the soles have 1 inch areas where the tread is flapping from the bottom of the shoe. Upon contacting customer service and sending multiple pictures of defects, they completely denied any replacement and claimed this is normal wear and tear. I feel this is outrageous, especially for shoes costing over $150. Even though I am reasonably happy with the other pairs, their poor customer service motivates me to check out the competition going forward.
Challenger 7's
Haven't been wearing them for too long yet, but so far so good, these are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn thus far, now to see how long they'll last without falling apart, I've never owned a pair but I hear great things, so I hope they stay this comfortable and last a few years and still feel good, then I'll be thoroughly impressed! Looking forward to great activities! Thank you for these comfortable beauties!
Dislike compared to Speedgoat 5
I got these instead of Speedgoat 6 due to poor reviews thinking they would be a good buy. Unfortunately these shoes are not great for me. After having run 10 miles in them (two 5 mile sessions) I found that they tend to make the bottom of my feet burn, my legs tend to fatigue sooner and I am more sore than I used to be with Speedgoat 5. I probably should have just stuck with the Speedgoat line.
