Uncomfortable Design.
I've been wearing Hoka's for a couple of years now to address foot pain and wanted to try their trail version. Unfortunately, these are not as comfortable as Cliftons and to me, have a design flaw. Specially, in the toe box, there is fabric that is wrapped in some areas with support outside. (You...

Just what I needed
Was traveling to Cape Town and Krueger National Park in South Africa , luggage weight was a concern so I needed a lightweight shoe I could wear around town as well as on hikes . These worked out perfectly
Sizing Runs Big, Not Speedgoat or Clifton
For some reason these just don't fit like the other models, the Clifton.. the speedgoat, even the Kaha... I wear the same size in all these shoes but I am between sizes in the Anacapa low. Dissapointed. Cool looking shoe otherwise.

The fit of your shoes in different styles can definitely be confusing. We understand this and recommend you utilize our sizing chart when making purchases. You can access it here: bit.ly/HOKASizeChart. Due to each one of our styles being created for different foot forms and issues, it can be tricky. The good thing is we always have that 30-day guarantee if you need to try before making a permanent decision in purchasing. More about it here: bit.ly/HOKA30Day.
Will buy again
Best support I have found for rough country hiking! Amazing fit support and comfort, I hope the last a long time
2nd pair !!
Originally bought these for walking and hiking, now these are my go too shoes for everything. Recently helped out on a construction site, feet were comfy all day wether working on concrete, gravel, tinned and shingled roofs where good grip is essential.
(You can see this in the pictures.) This made allows the foot to rub against this band and was always noticeable, even when I wore thicker socks. Finally, and this might just be the nature of the show, the heal area was too stiff and after a few hours of walking, my foot started to hurt. So, this pair has been returned and I'll keep looking for a trail shoe.

Soles are falling apart after few times of use
Bought my Anacapa Breeze Low and used a few times. The soles are so weak they started to unglue instantly and now half of it is gone. Pieces of rubber are coming off every time I use it. I found several other reviews on the internet talking about the same issue. Now that I'm trying to get a new pair or just a fix of this issue, Hoka is saying that won't cover this issue. I'm very unhappy with the purchase.

Foam part of outsole wears out quickly
I do really like them and have hiked over 350 miles in these shoes. They are comfy, stable and grippy. The Vibram outsole grips very well but for some reason, the middle part of the outsole is a foamy materiel and not Vibram, and that foam part wears out very quickly.
I won't be buying these
My spouse has a pair of these so I thought I'd try them. I was disappointed . I wear HOKA Bondis and Stinsons in size 13. The Anacapa 13s felt like 13.5 to 14 size. As soon as I put them on I realized that I would wear thru the top of the toe in a very short time. I also kept tripping on the extended heels. I returned the shoes.

Amazing shoes for hiking
I got the Hoka Anacapa Breeze Low shoes for hiking and love them -- they are the best hiking shoes I've owned. They have a fantastic sole that is very grippy -- on gravel, rocks, damp grass and mud. On inclines, they do not slip at all, which gives me a lot of confidence with my ascents and descents. The shoes themselves are very comfortable and well-cushioned -- I can readily do 6-8 hour hikes in them without chafing or discomfort. They are quite breathable, but one should note that that they are NOT waterproof, so one needs to be careful not to step in puddles of water or they will get wet (there is a GTX version if one will be stepping in water). My only negative is that the shoes are slightly snug for me, so one should try both the regular and wide versions and then make the choice.
