Great shoe for the long run!
The Ultra Glide has been my go-to since it came out. The 2s seem to be lightly roomier. The same size worked for me, I just have to tighten them a bit more. The upper seems a bit more breathable too, which is nice. I still use it as my usual trainer and still really enjoy running in them.

Low Quality shoe! I always go Salomon but now...
I might have to look for a new trail running shoe company. I always go Salomon so the poor craftsmanship of this shoe surprised me. After my second trail run in these the seams attached to the tongue of the shoe (on both left and right shoes) started to fall apart. The shoe felt good on the trail. ...

I asked advice from Salomon for a trail shoe that suited the majority of my local runs on coast path and woodland trails but linking with back roads and was recommended these. I've worn them about 5 times now and no problems at all, comfortable, grippy and enough cushioning for the back road sections.

I ran the Catalina marathon in these and was comfortable the whole way, through creek crossings, mud, dirt, slope and on concrete. I don't imagine these are the best for rock. The tread is already wearing down significantly after 5-6 long runs.

I bought these shoes to replace old running shoes for my GF, which were starting to look a little sad. My GF really likes these new shoes; they are comfy and supportive. They have good traction, which is important for running on trails. If you are looking for a good pair of trail running shoes, I'd definitely recommend these. She wears them almost every day.

I bought these because my pair of Ultra Glides had worn off tread. That is my main complaint with all Salomon trail shoes, the tread wears out before the rest of the shoe. I mainly wear these for walking and work. The Ultra Glide 2 have the same cushioning as the previous model but are narrower in the toe box which I don't like, I wish they would not have changed this, more space is nice. Overall it is a comfortable shoe for walking and standing in for hours.
