Street-approved. Trail tested. Built at the intersection of road and trail, the Challenger 7 Wide has been completely reimagined from the ground up. Combining a simplified mesh upper with a soft new foam, Hoka increased the stack height for a plusher feel and added proprietary rubber to the bottom unit, along with a reimagined outsole design for the best all-terrain ride yet. Inspired by gravel tires, they’ve cued up smaller, tightly spaced lugs in center and larger, more aggressive lugs at the perimeter designed for improved traction on uneven terrain.

I love this shoe. It's got comfort and support. I wear it 7 days a week. I have narrow heals and it fits well. I have to go down a half size on hokas in comparison to oboz.

As someone with wide feet and orthopedic issues (i had a sesamoid removed in 2015), I have to be careful about the shoes I choose. I like the shoe itself. It's a good, comfortable, solid shoe, however, it doesn't seem to be as wide as the wide sized Clifton 9 or Bondi 8 that I usually buy. I wanted to try these because they were less expensive than those shoes. I didn't think the "wide" part would be the issue. I thought it might be the support, however, the support of the shoe is great. I will buy them again.

I ordered two different pair of Hokas. I have work both styles before. I have worn the same size before. This pair left over an inch of extra room in the toe of the shoe. My foot doesn't feel stable and supported as it slides back and forth in the shoe. The other pair I ordered was the Speedgoat 6 and they fit like a glove. I am perfectly happy with them. The shoe is nice, and I'm sure it would be comfortable if it fit correctly. This is why I'm giving 4 stars.
