Purchased a few months ago and just wore in the rain for the first time today. Water does not bead up but just soaks through. I was thoroughly damp underneath after being outside for ~20 minutes in light rain. Emailed warranty to see if this is covered.

I was very disappointed after wearing this "waterproof" jacket. The alta vista jacket is far from waterproof. Rain went right through my jacket. I do not recommend this as a rain jacket.

So far so good. Love the pockets, the pit zips and waterproof zippers…no velcro to catch on everything. Perfect lightweight rain layer to keep in your backpack. I bought a size up to accommodate layers for fall & winter in the mountains.
