Warm and comfortable for side sleepers
This is one of the most popular pads on the market, so reviews and YouTube videos are plentiful. I won't belabor the review here except to say that I agree with most of what those reviews say: (1) it's comfortable and I sleep well on this pad, (2) it's warm and I've had it out in cool weather (low...

Feels narrow and BA has a no refund policy on sleeping mats
I bought this because of good reviews and recommendations of BA from friends in the outdoor industry. Overall, I was disappointed, partly because of the product, partly BA's return policy. Whilst the mat was thick, it felt very narrow to me. Perhaps because it is so thick, the side baffles are r...

Easy inflation thanks to physics, great for big shoulders!
Comments about 25" x 78"
Big Agnes is awesome. My old entry level ultralight ground mattress had a lifetime warranty (who knew?!), so I applied the cost and upgraded to this mattress and it is equally awesome. First off, my old mattress had to be blown up by mouth, (specifically 24 big breaths), but this one has the inflator that works off Bernoulli's Principle, so you blow into the bag with a quick breath, the bag fills up with lots of air, then you use the inflator like a pastry bag. It's so nice not to hyperventilate before bed. The raised edges keep my broad shoulders on the mattress. Its so worth the increased cost over their entry level ultralights. You will not be disappointed. Now off to Philmont!
My bed for 6 months during my Appalachian Trail Thru-hike
I tried a few different sleeping pads around the beginning of my AT thru-hike, but eventually settled on the Rapide. I slept on this thing every night for nearly 200 days straight, and its just as comfortable as my bed at home. I ended up needing to get another around 1900 miles in due to a leak I couldn't find, but I would consider that standard wear-and-tear given I was using it every day for 4-5 months. I ended up reaching out to Big Agnes and they even warrantied it. I've heard nothing but good things about Big Agnes' customer service from other thru-hikers on trail.
Love love love this pad so much!
I have to hand it to you Big Agnes. This pad is a game changer! Most comfortable sleep I've ever had in a tiny tent was because of this pad. Used it last night to test, didn't want to get up.
Nice product and great support

This pad replaced one I had bought just before COVID hit and had only used a couple of times before the seam at the valve began to leak. First of all, Big Agnes was a pleasure to deal with, replacing the defective mattress with no hassle and a very simple process. Second, the new pad it's quiet (which was a problem with the old one). The inflator is also a great solution... fast and not breathless. The pass is heavy for backpacking but it's an excellent car camping solution.
Big Agnes Sleeping Pad Rocks It Out
Comments about 25" x 78"
I just returned from camping with my new Big Agnes Rapide SL Insulated Sleeping Pad during a recent paddle & portage trip. It was comfortable and provided a layer of warmth in the midst of a couple of cold nights (The first being in the mid 30's). I like how easy it is to inflate and then compress back into the little stuff sack that is provided. Thanks again...the research that led me to your brand was well worth the time!

Warm and comfortable for side sleepers
This is one of the most popular pads on the market, so reviews and YouTube videos are plentiful. I won't belabor the review here except to say that I agree with most of what those reviews say: (1) it's comfortable and I sleep well on this pad, (2) it's warm and I've had it out in cool weather (low 40s) without issue, (3) it's packable with a reasonable weight and volume (though, smaller and lighter options exist), and (4) it's spacious in the 25x78 size with plenty of thickness and the elevated sides to keep you planted. I'm a side sleeper and I have PLENTY of support. Another user posted two pics of this pad mated with a BA Anvil Horn sleeping bag. This is also what I use ... a 30 degree, long Anvil Horn. It's the best sleep I've had on the trail (you can read my Anvil Horn review elsewhere). Also, this mat was redesigned for the 2024 calendar year. While I cannot compare to the earlier versions, I can say that the current version of this pad sleeps quietly. It's a tad noisy when unfurling it, but I hear zero noise when inflated ... and I move a lot. So, whatever BA did when it changed the insulation, it kept the noise to a minimum. For my use as a more casual, recreational hiker (read: sub 10-mile hikes), this pad is perfect. If I were thru hiking the PCT, e.g., maybe I'm shaving every ounce I can and opt for a lighter weight pad.
I would buy this item again for sure

so far I am very impressed.
impressive!
It is very comfy. Slept like a baby the first night and the raised sides are a good touch. No crinkly insulation sound. It's not the most lightweight item but it does pack down to 1L nalgene bottle size. Pump sack is super easy to use I get it fully inflated with 8 light breaths. Anyone having trouble using the pump sack is doing something wrong. Some reviewers have complained about the weight of the pump sack but if it was any lighter I would worry about durability. The whole pad feels durable enough. The valve system is very good and feels like it will last. My last thermarest neo-air lasted me 10 years of consistent use, my fingers are crossed this pad delivers years of service because it is so comfy and packable!
