Just Awful

One of the best
This is legitimately one of the best mountain house meals available. The flavor is great and the texture if you use the recommended amount of water is perfect. I purchased a broad selection of pouch flavors for a 10 day backpacking wilderness hunt. Day 3 I ate the first teriyaki pouch and was immediately disappointed that I had only ordered 2. This flavor broke up the trend of the "good" flavors which are stereotypically cream / dairy based (stroganoff, biscuits and gravy, chicken and dumplings, etc.) perfectly and made sure I did not get tired of them too early. Definitely recommend.
Just Awful
Not sure how MH can get it so wrong sometimes. I've used their meals for years for camping. We currently have 50+ meals of MH stocked up for trips. But this one makes me wonder if they do any taste-testing before marketing. Most of their stuff is ok or even really good, keeping in mind they need to target the broadest appeal, so it's not like we can expect it to be some kind of 5 star meal. But it should be edible. There was little "teriyaki" about the Chicken Teriyaki, but there was plenty ginger about it, making it bitter (and I really like ginger when I make asian dishes). Fortunately our group always taste-tests food before we take it on a trip - everyone tried one spoonful and we threw it away. No one could finish their serving, one person even spat it out. This is not up to MH standards.
Lightweight and very tasty.
Bought these for emergencies. The long shelf life, and easy preparation made these perfect for short term emergencies (power outages, tornadoes, SHTF).
LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
I've got Celiac Disease, so having freeze dried meals on hand for camping, in my emergency kit, and for road trips, has been vital. I have to say this one is my favorite, it's delicious, and colorful, and I am so happy with Mountain House Certified Gluten Free meals.
Highly Useful
Tried it for the first time a few months ago, and liked it, I've gotten several to have on hand just in case.
Must have in case.
Very tasty and easy to prepare. Eat once and awhile for change. Bought for emergency use and backup.
Never disappointed
Delicious, filling, and one pouch is a meal for me and my wife. It's ironic that when we need to rely on this long-term food, that we will eat so well.
Soupy but OK rebuttal...
I have been eating mountain house pouches while camping and backpacking in the wilderness for decades. If your chicken teriyaki with rice was soupy it's because you added too much water. I hate peas also, and with that being said you should have picked them out before you added the water. I say both gripes you had were your fault, not Mountain House.
