Garmin Forerunner 165
For a person that actually has 4 Garmin watches a Garmin Navigator for my motorcycle and one for my police unit, I feel I am somewhat qualified to review my new Garmin watch. I love the Amoled screen on the new forerunner it is so much better than that on my 735XT or 945. The 165 hooks up to the sat...

Just okay
I wanted a more watch that was better for running and swimming than the Apple Watch. This one is moderately better but it gives me wonky pacing under bridges (!!!) and is unable to record grade adjusted pace. It is often inaccurate recording laps in the pool as well.

So far, so good!
Bought this a month ago to replace my Swim 2 which worked well for me. Forerunner has more features and most importantly for me a longer battery life for the same price! 4 stars, only because I haven't swam open water yet. Small complaint is that it occasionally loses 25 yards while lap swimming as did my Swim 2.
I'm obsessed with the abilities of this watch
I bought this watch to replace the Apple Watch I wore and randomly died in me and it was the best change. It overall gives more information about your health and has many features that help me examine my overall physical abilities.
It's definitely entry-level, but it's pretty good!
I've owned several different Garmin watches, but this has been my first Garmin AMOLED watch. While I love MIP displays, I love how I'm actually able to read the time when I'm inside, which is most of the day. My MIP displays are just hard to read inside. I don't have any problems seeing the AMOLED screen when I'm out running as I can just turn the brightness up to full, and it's more than sufficient. For not being dual-band GPS, it almost seems like it is haha! GPS accuracy has been top notch, and even better than some dual-band GPS competitor watches I've tried. Sooo, hats off to you Garmin. However, Garmin's tier system with some of their software features is a little weird. For example, one simple feature I wish it had (and it's almost stupid it doesn't) is hot-keys like on a ton of Garmin's other watches. It's kinda annoying that this watch doesn't have it. I don't care about having all the training load metrics like the Forerunner 265 and up have (it makes sense to limit those to pricier watches), but being able to use hotkeys (ex. for Garmin pay, timers, flashlight, etc.) would make me bump the rating up to 5 stars. Overall, great, but just needs a little more.
Best for the price
This is my 5th Wearable garmin and has all important features than expensive models, I love the screen, the run dynamics, run power, and GPS
Apple Watch who????
I absolutely love this watch. It stays charged for days! I love how I can see my step count right. Garmin girl forever
Lots of features
I like the fact that for a great price the Forerunner 165 has so many features. Even better, you can arrange the features in an order that works for everyone.
Poor
I'm first time using the garmin watch there's now enough work out to using in gam
Couldn't Ask for a Better Watch
Initially received the Garmin Swim as a present but knowing that I don't exclusively swim, I contacted Garmin to ask their advice on the best watch. I ended up with the Forerunner 165. The (pool) swimming is totally accurate, and it also enables me to track eliptical, treadmill, stairmaster, walking, spin classes, HIIT, hiking, elevation, heart rate, sleep, etc. Battery life is pretty solid, and it's very quick to recharge.
