Great roof box for our 4runner
It fits all the skis that we have. Also great for storing all the tents and sleeping bags. Easy to open.

Poor Quality
Not what you would expect when buying a Thule product. The material itself is flimsy. It doesn't close gracefully as you would expect. Its more of a clumsy shuffle to get it to close properly. The locking mechanism is also very flimsy. It takes some effort to get everything closed and lined up prope...

4.5 stars - Just one little glitch!
I got my cargo box a few weeks ago and love everything about it. - It was delivered to my house within 2 days - Effortless installation (took 45 minutes total, including bars) - Super spacious and easy to usr - Looks darn good The ONLY thing that bugs me is that the locking mechanism gets stuck between locked and unlocked if something is preventing the box from closing properly. Now I know what to do if this happens but the first time it did, I freaked out thinking I had broken something or that the key got stuck. Apart from that, 11/10, would recommend!
Missing S#.
Update 01/24/23: trying to register the product, product is missing the serial number label. No label in location where it is supposed to be. Now wondering if this was sent as a scratch and dent but sold as new.
Holds it all
Picked this up for the ski trip and the road trips. It holds everything we need. Also I keep it up around town and I never notice it in the wind. Also if you have a dog it is a great spot for the bags after the trail head business.
Received great customer service
Rooftop box was lost in shipment. Evan in customer service and Collin in shipping helped me out and worked through the problem quickly. I am looking forward to all the well-equipped adventures the box will facilitate.
DOA or broke st first try to open
Less than half hour after picking it up from the store, hinge broke (or was already broke from transport). I wonder why such a crucial part is made of plastic instead of metal. It is fold up here in Alaska (12F this evening).
Love it!
Had a 10+ year old roof box that was cracked during a free ice storm when a tree fell on it, and got this one to replace it. they have created a more sleek design, while maintaining volume and the ability to toss a ton of boards and skis up top. Rides really quiet too.

Great equipment!
We did about 1,500 miles in all weather conditions. The XT-XL did a great job - the clamps for the roof rack are excellent. Quality product all around!!
Very poor design
I purchased the Thule 625 (extended) rooftop carrier 2 weeks ago. Thule touts their dual-hinged system that allows you to open the carrier from either side. The first time I tried it, the lid flopped off track and is now completely unable to be closed. It flops around loosely no matter which side I try to approach it from, and it is impossible to line it up correctly. I wrestled with it for 1.5 hours and gave up. I will be taking it back this week and asking for a refund, as I want nothing to do with Thule in the future. This is absolutely a vacation wrecker. I'm just glad I tried it out before I actually needed it. Very unsatisfied, especially given the excellent reputation Thule supposedly has.
Lock Mechanism
I have had two different Thule carbo boxes in my lifetime and both of the them have had issues with the box being able to close and the key actually braking off while trying to close. Very frustrating when I was in Florida on vacation and packing up to head back home and the key broke. I had to unload all my luggage and take the box completely off my car to get it to properly work. Glad there was the use of the other side that I had access to. Love the size of the box, but it seems that Thule could figure this out in the 2 boxes I have owned over the last 25 years.
