my waterproof boots leak
I bought these boots for my trip to Patagonia, and it's unpredictable weather. I went for a 3 mile hike that went through wet grass and at the end my toes were wet and I could see that the slight amount of water leaked through the seams leaked. These boots are NOT weather proof! I really like the ...

Moc Toe with Heel, Medium to Light Duty
Glad to have a moccasin toe boot with a heal. These are a classic type, and have become harder to find in competent versions; the wedge sole has skyrocketed round the internet. As Sorel continues to proceed in trajectory after the Columbia buyout & adjusting to overseas manufacture, it assists satisfaction to know what we are receiving. These are genuine McCoys at reasonable cost that hold up well under limited duty. The heel is an essential feature of the woodsman's footwear because of how a wedge can slip down a wet log. Heels dig in, and also catch leverage when needed. While these are foremostly conceived as an urban version of the outdoorsman's traditional apparatus, the reference to Native American gear is well rendered, and these hold their own when forced to prove their salt in the hiker & camping category as long as one uses other heavy duty versions for intensive explorations and chores. These do not need to be babied when maintained well, but keeping an eye to the reasonableness of their engagements maximizes their casual service life. A symbol of the countryside is nice in the city. What makes these worthwhile is Sorel's seeing that a pure symbol-only boot would undermine its own validity, as well as the company backtrail, and has built sufficient life into this iteration as to handle well what one wanders into, short of wanton over-use or excessive tasking.
Rugged but lightweight do-everything moc toe
Perfect lightweight, waterproof-ish, 3-season boot. Super comfy and at home in the office, in 5" of snow, or on a trail. Bought it in 2 colors.
Buy some
So I have had these for about a month now and love them. Comfortable and nice looking. Used the power washer the other day and the boots were wet, but my socks were dry. Have put some miles on them, mostly sand covered trails or the National Seashore at Cape Cod. Loved every mile. These are my new go to boots for everything.
Boots are not comfortable
Worst shoe ever for the amount of money paid. When I wear them my feet and legs hurt so bad that my day is ruined
Wear in the mountains, wear in the city
Love them! Light weight but warm. Super comfortable. enough style for the city but not trying too hard
Trail, City, Office Waterproof Do-All
Nice wide toe box, love the canvasy/leather two-tone combo, commando-style outsole (just in terms of tread/lug size, not material). Nice and lightweight, and since the outsoles have more give than the regular rubber you'd expect to find on a pair of Thursday boots, there's a bit more shock absorption and bounce for longer treks in the city of trail. I would love to see a version of this boot with a true lugged vibram outsole and a real 270 or 360 deg welt (I assume this one is glued to aid in the waterproof construction?) so that I could resole them for years and years.
No cushioning in heel
After a 20 minute walk my heal started rubbing causing it to blister. There is no cushioning in the heal. I was even wearing thick socks as well but the didn't help.
Great!
I got them and they look similar to my other boots purchaser earlier. Nothing wrong with them, just opted for a different style
Inconsistencies in construction and poor fit
Much narrower than expected. These will take a long time to break in. I hope these shoes are entirely hand made, since there are several inconsistencies with the right and left moc toe shape and overall construction. Being a waterproof boot is a plus, but unsure how Sorel can justify the price for inconsistencies with sizing and construction.
