Compact, Quick and Easy
I picked this up last minute before a canoe trip because I couldn't find my filter bottles, but found that the flexible bottle is much more convenient than a hard sided one. This bottle is designed to be light, so I do not think they built in a taste neutralizing filter, but in the BWCAW, the ...

Really Disappointed
I had high hopes for this filter. With a larger diameter bottle opening it was easier to fill. However, with less than twenty liters of water filtered, it completely stopped. I live in the Rockies, and I have only used this filter in clear, cold rocky mountain streams. I followed cleaning directions...

A critical tool for your hike and camp
Already used it on the trail. Hammock next to river. The flow out of this to my cooking pot is amazing. I filled up my backpack hydration pack because this is so fast.

Great filter
Super convenient. Packs small, filters fast. Easy to filter into other containers from this when you won't come across other water for a while. The filter also will screw onto other hydrapak water bags.
Awesome water filter and membrane! Invaluable for fresh w...
I use this on hikes and backpacking trips, and it's been invaluable. Water is indispensable out in the wilderness, and having a way to easily filter dirty water with a filter is amazing to me. You just scoop up water into the membrane and squeeze out clean water. When I first learned about this, I was surprised that this was possible, but it seemingly is! The membrane seems very durable and reliable, as I've taken the same one on many trips now, and it's undergone quite a bit of stress; but it's held nicely. Water is more of a necessity than food during your adventures, and this filter is one of the best ways to get clean water out there!
Best filter for solo canoe camping
Easier to stay hydrated because the filter isn't packed away in a bag. It's light and practical to use while traveling on the water. Very fast flow but I've heard it can slow down over time. I think it's important to get your water from clean sources (not brackish water). Noticed no plastic flavours. The bag is thin. I keep mine wrapped in a towel to protect it. If I bought it again, I'd get the 600ml version. When the 1l version is 1/3 full, it flops over your hand and is difficult to squeeze one handed, the 600ml version would be more in your hand, and easier to compress. Great filter, will purchase again if it ever fails.
Fantasticly convenient
Although this bottle was a little more expensive than some other options, it was worth every penny. Even on just one backpacking trip that I've used it for so far, it saved so much time and trouble to be able to instantly drink from any natural water source. I'd buy it again for every trip I'd ever take if I had to, but the great thing is, this should last me for years to come. Fantastic product.
Great water filter, much faster than Sawyer
I used the Sawyer filter on my PCT hike and it worked well but was pretty slow. This filter is now my go to, it is much faster at filtering. The only drawback is that you need to use the pouch and not a smart water bottle (like you could with the sawyer). This is the best filter I have used and will be recommending this to my fellow hikers.
Super convenient trail filtration
This is the most convenient trail filtration bottle I've ever owned. I took this through Rocky Mountain National Park and was able to find water for all of our hikes. I'm usually bad about drinking enough water while hiking but this made it so easy to stay hydrated. I cannot comment on the long term durability yet but I can say that I accidentally dropped it multiple times and the plastic held up well with no leaks. I read where some people were having issues with the seams bursting. I found that a combination of sucking like a straw and lightly applying pressure to the bottle yielded the best flow rate. I never felt like the plastic was being stressed too much. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. Even if mine breaks, I would definitely buy another simply for the convenience.
Great option for reduce water weight on backpacking hike,...
great option for reduce water weight on backpacking hike, but would be nice to have a attachment clip. used this for a 7 day hike and didn't even use my normal gravity feed water filtration system. get a water bucket as a good companion when at campsite on the trail.
Easy to use
Easy and quick to use! Fill it up with your dirty water & put the filter on and squeeze into you water bottle! Quick flow - so efficient!
Works well! Lightweight, compact, and affordable
I took this on a 4-day backcountry trip to Baxter with three other people and it worked very well the whole time. I was hesitant to buy this because of the reviews saying it clogged after a few liters, but I found that as long as I shook it between each liter, didn't squeeze too hard, and favored clearer water, it still maintained a workable flow, even though our primary water source was fairly muddy. When I got home, I cleaned the filter more thoroughly and used it again on another trip, and the flow was just as good as when I bought it! So far it's gone through approximately 25-30L. Overall, it needs to be babied a bit, but if that doesn't bother you, it's lightweight, compact, and affordable.
