We've only had this bottle a short period of time and it already has rust stains :( 3 of the new bottles we just bought do!! Don't know what's going on but this is disappointing. It also leaks so easily. We love the concept of these lids with the folding straws to prevent leaks but even our older ones always leaked.

I love these water bottles. My only advice, if you aren't sure if you want a size up, just get it bigger. I still love this one as I bough a separate cap and use it as a coffee mug too, but I did also get the 769 ml water bottle
