Disappointed Two
I tried to like this hiking boot design with the extended Hubble heel. I believe this heel adds too much room around the heel - no matter how tight you lace ... the heel is going to have wiggle room and cause blistering. Yes HOKA this was the right size (LOL). I saw your comment with the other ...

I LOVE IT !!
Are very comfortable, are cute, I run every day with those i really love it 😍
Not the normal quality
I have worn Hokas for over 6 years and have always worn the Speedgoats. This pair is a big disappointment. I have been trying to break them in for a month and they are still stiff and uncomfortable. I usually can break them in in just a couple of days. I have feet problems and have always depended on my Hokas for all day wear.

Great Ankle Support
I'm in love with shoes…my go to shoe when going on long walks. It provides the ankle support that I desperately needed.
Heavy for running and pokes in heel
I trail run in the Torrent series but have been having ankle trouble, so I hoped the Speedgoat 5 Mid GTX would provide enough support and keep me outdoors longer in a rainy fall. Unfortunately the back end of these shoes make them too heavy to run in; the stack height and the collar add just enough weight that the shoes feel clunky instead of agile. The point where the raised collar meets what would be the heel notch on the low style has a bit of a ridge that pokes directly into my achilles tendon. That said, the shoes have good support and are comfortable for hiking short distances. The toe box is plenty wide enough for my toes to flex without feeling pinched. I'm sad they didn't work out in the end!
I bought this product 3 times
The good: Fits and hold perfectly The bad: Squeak - drives me crazy
Will write another review after my trip
Fit is good and insole is soft and supportive Bought them to take on a hiking trip.
Great herl/ ankle support
I had severe heel fracture all Hokas are a God sent
I love the support they give my feet
Love the fit, gives me protection as a I walk outdoors. My ankles love the support They are my favorite shoe.
Almost Perfect
I purchased these to replace an old, battered pair of Speedgoat 2 Mid Trail Runners that were the best hiking/trekking/trail running shoes I have ever owned. Sadly, they are on their last leg with over 500 miles on them :(. I'm mostly happy with the Speedgoat 5 Mid Trail Runners that I bought to replace them but there are a couple of things that almost made me return them. The toe box on the Speedgoat 5s feels a bit more narrow than the Speedgoat 2s. Weirdly though, the rest of the shoe on the Speedgoat 5s feels a bit sloppy and I end up having to tighten my laces more than normal. The biggest difference is that I never had my toes slam into the front of my shoes when wearing the Speedgoat 2s, not even when heading down VERY steep slopes. The first time I wore the new Speedgoat 5s on a steep descent though, I was in a lot of pain because my feet slid forward so far that it felt like I was descending on my toes with no support from the shoes. The saving grace is that I discovered a way to lace them utilizing a runners lace and a heel lock to keep my feet mostly in place. That is the reason I am keeping these. If it weren't for that lacing method I would definitely have to return these shoes. But now that I have alleviated the majority of that problem, I am very satisfied with them overall.
Foot pain is in your future!
Do you hate having all10 toenails? Do you love blisters ? These are the shoes for you! If looking to be distracted from breathtaking views with crippling foot pain, go ahead pull the trigger on this purchase.

Blisters, pain, and friction often point toward an ill-fitted shoe, which we hope to help avoid at all costs! To start, please take a peek at our sizing chart to see if the extra space in a wide-width model could help relieve your discomfort. If that doesn’t do the trick, the roomier Challenger 7 might be the answer. It’s traction-packed, light on the trail, and offers more space in the toe box.
